FAQ
Prices are missing or stale
Click Fetch Prices. Steam Market may rate-limit. With a CSFloat key or Skinport provider selected, pricing uses that source first with Steam fallback. Price caches last about one hour.
Sidebar does not appear on inventory
Confirm you are on a CS2 inventory URL (#730), the extension is enabled, and you hard-refreshed the tab (Ctrl+Shift+R). After updating files in Developer Mode, reload the extension first.
History scan is slow
Full inventory-history scans on old accounts can take a long time. Scans are resume-safe — leave the tab open or re-run later; progress is kept locally.
Trade-up expected value is blank
EV needs the local outcome database for your collections and priced outcomes. Uncovered collections stay unpriced.
Does it sell items automatically?
No. Steam Market and CSFloat listings only run after you confirm a dialog. Steam may still require mobile confirmation.
Where is my data stored?
On your device (chrome.storage.local, IndexedDB, optional OPFS snapshots). See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstall the extension, or clear extension storage via Chrome settings. That removes local caches, history databases, and any optional CSFloat API key. There is no cloud account to delete — we do not host your inventory data on an Extension backend.
Is CS2 Ledger free?
Yes — free to install and use. Core inventory organisation, valuation, and confirm-gated listing helpers stay free. Advanced analytics may become part of an optional Pro plan later (see Terms).
Known limitations
- Counts reflect items Steam has loaded into the page.
- Float/paint seed appear when Steam provides them, or via opt-in CSFloat inspect.
- Steam DOM / inventory internals can change and briefly break parsers.
- Case P&L uses historical market medians when a matching purchase is not found.
Bug reports
Prefer email with repro steps. Do not paste Steam passwords or full session cookies.
Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the CS2 Ledger Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information when you use it. The Extension is not affiliated with Valve, Steam, Counter-Strike, CSFloat, or Skinport.
chrome.storage.local, IndexedDB, and optional OPFS snapshots). Steam requests use your existing logged-in Steam session. We do not operate a backend that collects your inventory data, and we do not sell your data.
1. Data the Extension accesses
- Steam Community and Steam Store pages where you use the Extension (inventory, inventory history, Community Market, store purchase history), including on-page Steam JavaScript state needed to read inventory tiles and session tokens.
- Your existing Steam login session in Chrome. Authenticated HTTPS requests to Steam include cookies already present in the browser (
credentials: "include"). The Extension does not ask for, store, or transmit your Steam password. - Steam session id (
sessionid) when needed to paginate store history or create a Steam Market listing you confirm. - Optional CSFloat developer API key that you paste in Settings. Stored only in
chrome.storage.localand sent only tohttps://csfloat.com/for pricing, inspect, history, and listings you request.
2. Data stored locally
chrome.storage.local
- UI preferences, favourites, and settings (including optional API key and feature toggles)
- Cached prices, inventory summaries, and value-history sparklines
- Trade-up selection state
IndexedDB
- Case-opening, purchase, and Community Market history rows and derived stats
- Price-history caches used for retrospective valuation
- FloatDb: opt-in inspect float / paint seed / screenshot URL caches
OPFS (Origin Private File System)
Periodic snapshots of local history for durability. Dashboard Sync can write a snapshot on demand. Snapshots remain on your device until you clear extension data or uninstall.
The Extension requests unlimitedStorage so large history caches are not silently evicted.
3. Network destinations
| Destination | Purpose |
|---|---|
| steamcommunity.com / store.steampowered.com | Inventory, prices, history, user-confirmed listings |
| csfloat.com | Optional pricing, inspect, graphs, user-confirmed listings |
| api.skinport.com | Optional catalog pricing when Skinport is selected |
| community.cloudflare.steamstatic.com | Item images |
The Extension does not load remote executable scripts from the network.
4. Selling / listings
Listings on Steam Market or CSFloat occur only after explicit user confirmation. No automatic/background selling, trading, buying, or offer acceptance. Steam may still require mobile confirmation.
5. Case-opening analysis
Analyses past Steam unboxes for personal P&L. Does not open cases, simulate gambling, or offer real-money wagering.
6. Limited Use
Data is used only for the Extension’s single purpose: helping users manage and analyse their CS2 Steam inventory (valuation, history, trade-up planning, and user-confirmed listing helpers). Compliant with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use. We do not sell user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to data brokers.
7. This website (Blogger)
This marketing site is hosted on Google Blogger. Google may process standard web logs, cookies, and analytics as described in Google’s privacy policy. Blog comments (if enabled) are handled by Blogger. This site does not collect Steam passwords or extension inventory databases.
8. Third parties
Steam (Valve), CSFloat, and Skinport operate their own services and privacy practices when the Extension calls their APIs on your behalf. Review their policies separately.
9. Children
The Extension is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it if you are not allowed to use Steam under applicable age rules.
10. Data deletion
Uninstall CS2 Ledger or clear the extension’s site data in Chrome to remove local storage, IndexedDB, OPFS snapshots, and any optional API key. Because inventory analytics are not uploaded to an Extension server, there is no separate cloud profile to erase.
11. Changes
If data-handling practices change, this policy will be updated and users notified through the Chrome Web Store listing and/or in-product notice as required.
12. Contact
Privacy questions: SUPPORT_EMAIL (same support address as the Chrome Web Store listing). See also Support.
Terms of use
By installing or using CS2 Ledger (“the Extension”), you agree to these terms.
1. License
Subject to these terms, you may install and use the Extension for personal use, including builds distributed via the Chrome Web Store. You may modify the source for personal use. Redistribution of modified builds as if they were the official Extension is not allowed without clear labelling that they are unofficial forks.
Access to some features may require a free or paid plan. Plan names, included features, and prices may change over time and will be described in the Extension, on this site, or in the Chrome Web Store listing.
2. Pricing and plans
The Extension may be offered free of charge, freemium, or paid. Availability of free features does not create a permanent right to those features. We may introduce, change, or discontinue plans with reasonable notice where practicable. Paid purchases are subject to the checkout terms of the payment provider used at the time.
3. Not affiliated
The Extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation, Steam, Counter-Strike, CSFloat, or Skinport. Counter-Strike and Steam are trademarks of their respective owners.

- Keep your Steam account secure; the Extension never asks for your Steam password.
- Do not circumvent, share, or abuse license checks or paid-feature unlocks.
5. No warranty
The Extension is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Inventory values, floats, trade-up EV, and P&L figures are estimates based on available Steam and optional third-party data and may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. Do not treat outputs as financial advice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for lost profits, lost items, failed listings, account actions by Steam or third parties, or other damages arising from use of the Extension.
7. Case openings
Case features analyse past Steam unboxes only. The Extension does not open cases, simulate gambling, or offer real-money wagering.
8. Privacy
Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
These terms and available features may be updated with Extension releases or website notices. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
